The dynamics of global trade has changed significantly over the past few decades. India and Latin America have indeed emerged as engines of growth in the changing world economic scenario. These regions are rapidly becoming fuelled by robust domestic demand and better positioned in terms of economic competitiveness. They share a focus on development, price sensitive consumers and growing young populations, but their differences provide the basis for synergistic partnership. In recent years, there has been a quantum leap in the bilateral trade and investment between India and Latin America region. This has enlarged the scope of increasing engagement between emerging and developing economies through South-South trade and economic cooperation.
