Interaction between FICCI Leadership and US Ambassador to India – Ms Nancy J Powell

The Meeting

FICCI President Mr. R V Kanoria, Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Past President Mr. Harshpati Singhania, Past President Mr. YK Modi, Sr. Vice-President Ms. Naina Lal Kidwai, Vice President Mr. Sidarth Birla, Chairman of FICCI Indo-US Policy Group, Ambassador Lalit Mansingh and important members of FICCI Mr. Rakesh Bakshi, and Dr. Saurabh Srivastava interacted with US Ambassador Nancy Powell at Hotel Taj in Delhi on 5 July 2012.

Mr. Kanoria briefed the US Ambassador on FICCI’s activities to promote the bilateral relations between the two countries. The interaction touched upon range of issues such as Indo-US Cooperation in Energy, Innovation and Technology, support required from the US in Higher Education and Skills. FICCI Presidium also discussed the issues being raised by the  Indian IT companies in the past with Ambassador Powell. The discussion also touched upon issues flagged by the US companies in India.

The meeting  also conversed the matter of FDI in various sectors in India including  multi-brand in retail sector. FICCI also presented the 12 point agenda to revive the Indian economy.
